Miss Asian American 2002-2004

Miss Asian American is a piece that examines identity and the complexities of subcultures in America. This performance piece I entered into four beauty pageants. In 2002 I was ready to embark on my pageant journey, but the pageant I entered into was cancelled due to low enrollment. So I waited for one year. I entered into Miss Chinatown Seattle which was renamed Miss Chinese Seattle. The judges didn't like me so much, but fortunately for me my fellow contestants crowned Miss Congeniality 2003. In the winter I participated in Miss Seattle 2004, the summer of 2004 I represented the Seattle Chinese community in Miss Seafair 2004 and soon after I traveled to San Francisco to compete in Miss Asian American 2004.
